Rooting for you analisys

Rooting for you is a modern song ritten by London Grammar and published on the firts
January of 2017.
Starting from the title I aspect this song to be about love and building a love story with someone else.
I understand this mostly for word rooting that has multiple meanings like staying with your lover or by his side.
It is made up of four stanzas. In the first stanza the speaking voice is refering directly to her beloved, saing that the winter must pass in order to see her again has she promise.
At the end of the stanza the voice complain that she would have loved him forever but she is also scared of lonelynes.
To understand better let's I analyze the refrain: the speaking voice reveals the fact that the man lied to her saying that he was going away for her but it is not, it is only for him. But this does not matter to her, she loves him so much that would act like this is not the truth and she would always stay by his side.
In the second stanza the subject is the truth that has been lost.
The speaking voice needs it because that from her point of you it left a long time ago.
As it is a modern song it is full of repetition, assonances and consonances that give musicality to the text. For example it is repeted the phrase “and my darlin’, i’ll be rooting for you...” .
To sum up the song is about unrequited love beacause it is clearl how he doesn’t love her and he is constantly lying to her. Her heart is broken.
Even tought, she loves him so much that she would always be by his side.
The words fire and winter are in contrast with each other.
The figure speech are dissonance and consonance.
On the first listening I found it very pleasent and lovely but analysing it, I would never received that because it is very sad and negative, however it is still a declaration of love.
