Exercise 10

  1. A che cosa devo prestare attenzione quando devo fare il plurale di un sostantivo che termina in -y? Perché?
    Devo prestare attenzione alla lettera che preceda la y: se questa è una vocale aggiungo la s, mentre se questa è una vocale sostituisco alla y una i e aggiungo -es.
  2. Qual è la differenza fondamentale tra italiano e inglese quando si usa un pronome personale soggetto?
    In italiano il pronome personale soggetto viene spesso sottinteso, mentre in inglese va sempre specificato.
  3. Osserva la seguente frase: La francia è una nazione. Essa è in Europa. Quale errore si può commettere nel tradurla? Perché?
    Si può erroneamente tradurre essa con she, mentre è corretto usare it, poiché la Francia è un oggetto inanimato.
