Hi everybody.
i appreciated your messageboard contributions and I would now challenge you with another topic of reflection. Will you please make some guidelines to remind what adaptations a teacher should be ready/able to do in order to create a story suitable to the children he/she is adressing to?
You can also make a list of possible suggestions.
good luck |

A teacher should use:
-a simplified language, close to the children's experience
-short meaningful phrases (the steps of the story line should be clear)
-imaginative elements
-onomatopoeic words
in order to create a suitable story for children.
As it's important to involve all the senses, pictures and mimes become a precious means to make the story a pleasure for children. |

I think that teachers to create a story suitable for children have to:
- read the text and cut the parts that aren't important to understand it
- use an easy language
- repeat new words
- use pictures and sounds
- read the text to the children to underline with the intonation of voice the most important parts of it
- make some questions to children
Teachers have an other important function: they have to capture the attention of children. |
