How do schoolwork
and the projects we are carrying out contribute to the implementation of the
The
primary aim of the Lisbon Strategy is “to become the most competitive and
dynamic knowledge-based economy in the world”.
As a
consequence, schools play a main role in the achievement of the goal. As the
Education and Training Minister of the EU Juan Figel said, “education and
training are crucial for the future of the European Union. High quality and
accessible education is essential for all citizens to contribute to the
building of a European knowledge society.”
But what
have we done in order to implement the Lisbon Strategy?
As a
school class of the EU, we have adopted some of the objectives of the Strategy.
To be
precise:
As regards
the implementation of ICTs, ECDL courses are provided
to all students. What’s more, we have developed our computer skills by using
the latest forms of communication (forum, blog, wiki) during the English lessons.
Therefore,
foreign language learning has been developed along with ICTs.
In order
to enhance our conversational abilities in a foreign language, an exchange
project (Garden of Eden) with the Belgian
As regards
the development of the spirit of enterprise, “Progetto
Imprenderò - Officina Studenti” offers a view of the world of enterprise through
the creation of an innovative product or service.
Last year,
the product created (a design t-shirt) was advertised on the website created by
one of the students, Marco Maran.
Last but
not least, projects have been carried out to provide information about the
European Union.
We first
compared the main institutions of both

created power-points and linotypes about the EU (“European Citizenship”
Project).
Last but
not least, we have studied the Lisbon Strategy and the possible future of the
EU (“Conoscere l’Europa,

All Projects are about knowing the European Union and Becoming European
