Discuss the role of seduction in the extract and explain how language and style add meaning to the message



The girl seduces the man though her actions. She looks at the horizon and she creates a distance between herself and the man, but she really knows he is looking at her. Therefore she shows her delicacy and ingenuousness. As a matter of fact her heart is throbbing. Besides the narrator answers to an implied question, that is if he looks at her. The sound of “yes” gives an imagine of passion and wish in man’s look. As a matter of fact his look is intense and “burned” recalls to the mind an imagine of love. In addition the use of semantic “search - read” underlines the man’ s passion and sexual desire. As a matter of fact words reveal the need to delve into the study of something, of the woman in this case. After that he considers her a beautiful woman, therefore he would love him. Besides she is able to look at him discretely and her look is seductive, because he is striked by her eyes. Afterwards she ingenuously kicks the ball, so he can see her shoes. She wants to catch most his attention. Besides she moves her toes too, as a matter of fact she wants to communicate him though her sensual movements of her body.

Finally she is sure to want him, because she feels intended by him. And he is sure to want her, because she is womanly and different from the other women. Concluding she wants to seem ingenuousness like an angel to be intended by him, and he wants her, because she could make him feel a man.
