The Battle Of Newton Road

Newton Road is in an English town. The people live in small hauses but they aren't poor. They are happy because all the neightbours are friends.

In this road lives an old woman called Granny Robson and her friends Mr Morgan, Mrs Brown and Mrs Jhonson.

But one day a civil eingineer (Mr Wood) comes. At a public meeting he sais that he's going to knock down the houses in Newton Road, because he is going to build a new road.

Granny Robson is very unhappy, so she decide with her old friends and her grandsons ( Stephen and Catherine) to have a battle with Mr Wood.

 Mrs Robson and Mr Wood are both old, and they can't have a battle. So Catherine and Sthepen decide to go to the town centre and talk to Mr Wood.

After that, Mr Wood and Granny Robson's grandsons want to have another public meeting. In this meeting Mr Wood is going to explain his new plan for the people of Newton Road.

When all the people are at the public meeting he sais that new houses are important, but friends are important too. So he's building new houses in a new road, and they can stay with their friends. It can be their road !!

Then, all the people of Newton road are very happy and Mr Wood and Mr Robson become friends.
