1. Consider the title The Fox:

a smart and little animal; belongs to the Dog's category.

The title lets the reader know that the short story may talk about a Fox. The title is a short title that does not give infomation to the reader about the story will be about. The title can be considered a metaphor in the sens that the title, is a metaphorical way refers to a very smart person, because the Fox is seen from the common people like a smart and intelligent animal.

2)The short story is arranged into four parts:

The function of the first part is to introduces the setting of the short story and also the two girls.

The function of the second part is to introduce a crucial event, that makes the story go on.

The function of the third part is to provide obstacle to the marriage of Henry and March.

The function of the fourth and last part drives to the tragic conclusion of the short story.

March has a strange character and she's strong and she does not worring about danger. She also desires to disappers.

Benford is not as strong as March.

Henry loved to be alone with the gun in his hands. He has a very particular character and he has a very calm and nice voice. He is robust as a soldier must be at that time.

The girl's farm is not very big. It's set in the westside of London during the first World War, events take place between the year 1914/1918. The farm is not very near the village.

March works hard like a man. Strong personality......

In my opinion the language used in the story is not so easy because there are a lot of new words. The story was written in the first 20 years of the 1900 and so the language is not so easy to understand.
