I am Veronica Lepre and I’m 14 years old. I’m an Italian student at Cervignano’s Liceo, but I live in Aquileia with my family. I’m slim but not very tall, I have brown, short and straight hair. My hobbies are reading (comics and books), playing with videogames, surfing the Internet and playing the violin. I don’t practice sport, but I can swim and sometimes I go to the swimming pool.

In my family there are four people: my mum, my dad, my sister and I. my mum’s name Cristina and she is 55 years old. She is a housewife, but previously she was a teacher, and after that, a dietician. Her hobbies are: gardening, and watching old films. My dad’s name is Rodolfo and he is 52 years old. He’s an architect. His hobby is painting abstract pictures, and he considers it like a second work. My sister’s name is Valentina and she is 24 years old. She’s a student and wants to become an architect like my dad.

We live in a big house with a lot of rooms. Our house has got two floors, but we mainly use the first one. It has got a kitchen, a living room, two bathrooms and the bedrooms. My favourite room is my bedroom. It is not very big; it has got my bed and next to it there’s a bedside table. There are also a wardrobe, some bookshelves and my desk. On it there’s a computer and my school books and exercise books. I like it because this is the place where I can study and play.

I am an Italian student. At the moment I am studying at Cervignano’s Liceo Scientifico. I am in the IA form.

In the class there are twenty-seven students. We study a lot of subjects like: Italian, Maths, English, German, History and many others. My favourite subject is Maths, but I like Latin. Every day lessons start at 8.25 and end at 13.10.

At 11.00 o’clock there is a break. We can have a rest or go to the bar and buy something to eat.

We have got a lot of new teachers. My favourite teacher is Mr Di Florio.

MARCO: Hi! This is Janet, my friend from Great Britain.

I: Hello, Janet.

JANET: Hi.

I: How are you?

JANET: I’m fine, thanks.

I: Why are you in Italy?

JANET: Because my family found a job in this country, and we like Italy.

I: ok. What’s your surname?

JANET: It’s White.

I: Where are you living now?

JANET: I live in Palmanova, at Via Udine, 12.

I: Where did you live, before?

JANET: I lived in Oxford.

I: What are your hobbies?

JANET: My hobbies are listening to the music, watching TV and reading.

I: What are your family like?

JANET: In my family there are my mum, my dad and I. I’m an only child. My mum’s name is Karin and she’s 42 years old. She’s a teacher. My dad’s name is Paul and he’s 40. He is a dentist.

I: What is your house like?

JANET: We live in a small house; it has got a few rooms.

I: What is your typical daily routine now?

JANET: I wake up at 7 o’clock, then I have breakfast and go to school. Our school starts at 8.00 o’clock, and finishes at 2.00 pm o’clock. Then, I have lunch and rest for a while. At half past three I start to do my homework. When I finish it, I listen to the music, read and watch TV. At 8.00 pm o’clock I have dinner. Finally, at 9.30 pm, I go to sleep. Today I don’t follow this routine, because it’s Sunday.
