Eveline is a young girl who lives in Dublin. She is waiting to leave her home and escapes from her drunk father and her boring runtime life. She has fallen for a sailor named Frank who promises to take her with him to Buenos Aires. But the day of departure Eveline stops on the pier and does not leave with Frank.
