On 16th August 2004, when  was 10 years old, I went with my family (my dad Lauro, my mum Anna and my two sisters Silvia and Giulia) on a trip to the mountains of Friuli, in particular we went to the Fusine lakes. They are located near Tarvisio,  a city in the north-east of  Friuli-Venezia Giulia.                                                                                          

That day I woke up at about eight. I was very anxious because I like going walking to the  mountains. I washed myself and I had breakfast with milk and biscuits. After that I put on  a T-shirt and shorts, but in my backpack I put also a pair of long trousers and a sweatshirt in case of bad weather or cold temperature. Later  at about nine we left in our family's car. We took  three backpacks with us where we put some bread, ham, some bottles of water and five cans of coke.

We arrived at Fusine's lakes after one hour and thirty minutes. Luckily when we arrived there, the weather was sunny and hot. We started a long walk between tall and beautiful trees. The air was clean and fresh even if it was August. The path was difficult and long. But thanks to the beauty of the nature we didn't feel tired. Ata certain point, the path was interrupt by a little river, so we had to crossed it. At midday o'clock we arrived at the Fusine lakes. They are two lakes: one is called "The superior lake" and the other is called "The below lake". The names of the two lakes comes from their location: in fact the superior lake is located at about 900 meters while the below is located at about 800 meters.  These lakes are marvelous and their color is green because they are surrounded by trees. In that place there was a lot of peace and quiet, so while we was there we felt relaxed and rested. At about 12.30 we had lunch. Iate a ham roll and an apple. I did a lot of photos because the place was beautiful. At 13.30 we left the two lakes and we returned at our car. Since it was early we went to the town of Venzone. There we visited the famous mummies and then we took something in a bar. I ordered an ice cream with chocolate because the temperature was high and I felt hot. At about 17 we returned to Carlino. We were tired a lot. That day I didn't do my summer homework but I played cards with my two sisters. At 20 O'clock we had dinner. There were vegetables, meat and eggs. In the evening I saw a football match on TV while I Ate another ice cream (in fact I like having ice creams a lot). At about 23 I had a shower and I washed my teeth and then I went to bed to have rest. I immediately felt asleep. I will not forget that day because I enjoyed myself a lot and I had a beautiful Sunday with my family.
