Right from the title I expected the poem to deal with a woman who lives alone. "she" is a pronoun that is referred to a woman. I supposed she is alone because there is the word "untrodden", which recalls a solitary life.
Indeed the poem deals with a lonely and unknown lady. she lives near Dove. She hasn't people that praise her because she lives isolated from the society moreover nobody loves her.
In the second part of the poem the woman is compared to a violet, which is hidden. Secondly the poet likens her to a star which shines alone in the sky.
In the third part the writer says that the woman is unknown and she has died. In the last line the poet concludes the poem fell sorry for the death of the woman while he is still alive.
The text is organized into 3 parts of 4 line each, that is into quatrains each one plays a definite function in the economy of the poem. the first paragraph introduces the girl, the second one the author praises her beauty, in the last one he complains her death sadly.
The reader is curious to know the reason of her isolation:
There are 2 hypothesis:
1)she lives in a place where there isn't anybody.
2)she wants to be alone.
In my opinion the first hypothesis is truthful because, analyzing the connotative language, there is an inversion in the fifth line. The poet wants to say that her beauty is hidden from the eye of the other people. Moreover there is a simile in the seventh line. The writer wants to compare the beauty of woman with a star that is shining solitary in the sky. the star represents the beauty woman that lives in a place where there isn't anybody.
A intelligent writer can note the repetition of assonance and rime which help the reading of the poem.
