Up to  Hamlet: one of W. Shakespeare's Greatest TragediesUp to task document list

Hamlet shows to his mother the portrait of his dead father and of his  ucle (father's brother). Hamlet wants to put mother's attention on virtues of his dead father. So he compares him with  divinities as Hyperion ( a titan who ruled the sun), Jove(the king of gods), Mars( god of war) and Mercury(the mesanger of the gods). Hamlet gives importance and relevance to his father.

Subsequently  he shows to his mother the portrait of her new husband: his uncle. Hamlet criticezes him and compares him to a spoil ear.
