Up to  The English Renaissance and its CultureUp to task document list
In the renaissance women had an inferior place compared to men.

They are considered propriety of their husbands.

They must take care of them, give them sons and take care of the house.

Girls had to be well educated and they must have a good culture to entertain gentlemen speaking about every topic, but only rich girls could receive an education.

Women in that period are not independent, they must obey to their parents and, when they got married, to their husbands.
