We are analysing the act third of  first scene from Hamlet by Shakespeare.

In this scene we can understand that Shakespeare was influenced by classicism.

During Renaissance classic works, composed by Latin and Greek authors, were recuperated ( pervious humanists and Petrarca recovered classics).

In the first scene from act third Hamlet refers to classic gods: Mars, Zeus… etc.

Shakespeare decides to associate Hamlet's father with them because he wants to underline mainly the importance of him his values and his mightiest .
