EXPLORING EDWARD'S CHOISES

If we consider Edward's behaviour, we can note that:

*       He is very patient and permissive with respect to Florence.

This aspect of him can derive from Edward's domestic life: with a brain-damaged mother (which was  very difficult and unpredictable) he probably learned to have this kind of attitude...

*       He is very careful with respect to Florence.

Edward knows Florence's reserve and shyness, so he never loses patience with her and he respect her necessity and wishes...he is a condescending man and he never tells his problems.
