ROMEO, ROMEO ... YOU'RE UNDER ARREST ROMEO.
Chris Austin lived in Nottingham, in Fairview Road. In 1997, when he was still a child, the Cooper family moved in the next door to the Austins. The new neighbours had a child, Jacky, of the same age of Chris. They got on very well; they often had lunch and used to go to school together. A few years later, Chris and Jacky fell in love and were going out together. But the two family broke the relationship and the Coopers moved in Ruddington, miles away from Nottingham. Chris and Jacky continued seeing each other in secret, but in July Mrs. Cooper found out about their meetings and forbade Jacky to go out with him. Chris laid in despair and decided to prove his love in order to persuade the Coopers to let Jacky go out with him. At that time of year, the Coopers' garden was always full of roses. But when the sun came up one Saturday, the roses of the front garden wasn't there. Chris had pulled up them to write the message "I love you" on the house lawn. Mr. Cooper called the police immediately and Chris was arrested in the charge of vandalism. He was taken in front of Nottingham Crown Court and admitted committing the crime. He justified his behaviour with love, but the judge said that it was no excuse.
