SUMMARRY
Victor Lusting was born near Prague in 1890. He grew up in a middle class family and he became one of the most famous criminals in history. In the 1920’s he emigrated to the USA.
In 1922 he used his most famous alias, Count Victor Lusting to pay a bank $22.000 for an old farmhouse. At the same time he asked the bank to lend him $10.000, they exchanged envelopes but the envelope that Victor handed over did not contain any money and so he went away with both envelopes.
Three years later Lusting decided to sell the Eiffel Tower!
He got in touch with five company directors who made their offers to buy the Tower. Lusting chose the highest offer took the money and escape to Austria. Then Lusting returned to Paris wrote to five more companies and sold the Eiffel Tower again. This time his victim went to the police and lusting had to escape to the USA.
After many more crimes he was arrested in 1935 and he spent the next twenty years in the Alcatraz prison. He died in 1947.
