Victor Lustig was one of the most criminals in history. He born near Prague in 1890, He grew up in a middle-class family and learned to speak five lenguages. In the 1920s He emigrated in the USA. In Missouri in 1922 He paid a bank $22.000 for a farmhouse but at the same time He asked the bank manager to lend him $ 10.000. The man accepted but Victor escape with his original $22.000 and the $10.000!
Three years later He returned to Europe. He saw an newspaper article which said that the Eiffel Tower was in poor condition and some politicians had suggested to demolishing it. So Victor Lustig tried to buy the Eiffel Tower. He asked a forger to make some false government notepaper. Then He told to some businessmen that the government had decided to sold the metal from the demolition of the tower. Lustig choose the highest offer, took the cash and escape to Austria.
So Victor returned to Paris and sold the Eiffel Tower one more time but He had to fly to USA because the police was searching him. After more crimes He was arrested for the last time in 1935. The judge sent him to Alcatraz prison where He died.
