1066: conquest of the Normans led by William, monarch till 1087, in the battle of Hastings
1154: the reign of Henry II starts. He was the first Plantagenet king. He introduced the Common Law.
1199: king John got the throne. He became unpopular imposing a lot of taxes.
1215: in a document called Magna Carta the nobles and the clergy wrote that the power of the king was limited. It is the initial example of constitutional government.
1265: important event was the first assembly which represents the different social classes.
1272: the advent of king Edward I
1307-1328: the reign of Edward II
1337-1485: the Hundred Years War against France. At first the English were victorious with king Henry V at Agincourt, but then Joan of Arc brought France to victory and England lost all the countries in France except Calais.
1381: the Peasants' Revolt because of poverty and heavy taxation.
1455-1485: The War of the Two Roses, between the two noble families, the York and the Lancaster, for the throne. The Tudor dinasty accessed to the throne.
