Mrs. Jones had a daughter. She was four years old and her mother was trying to teach her how to say "Please" when she asked for something and to say "thanks" when someone offered her something. Unfortunately, the child often forgot that courtesy. One day, while they were having tea together, the child asked her mother for some bread and butter without saying please. So, the mother asked her what more she had to say. But the daughter added only she also wanted some jam. After that, Mrs. Jones asked her if she wanted some tea. The child answered she wanted nothing else without thanking. The mother asked her again what more she had to add, but her daughter replied she didn't want any tea without saying thanks.
