My last Duchess - Robert Browning
The protagonist of the monologue is a Duke that shows a paint to a Sir. In the painting there is a representation of the Duchess. The Duke invites the Sir to look at the painting that Frà Pandolf had painted with his hands: the face of the Duchess is very beautiful, her glance is deep and passionate. Then the Duke describes the behaviour of the woman: she liked everything in the same way, and she didn't prefer the gifts that the Duke gave her. Then the Duke tells to man that he killed the Duchess because he was too much jealous.
At the end of the monologue the Duke wants to speak to man about a dowry.
