My Last Duchess written by Robert Browing is a dramatic monologue.
It talks about a story told by a duke to a sir about his last love with a duchess.
The monologue starts with the telling of Fra Pandolf working on the painting.
Therefore the duke invites his guest to sit and to admire the work.
Here he begins to explain the duchess's personality, about how
she got into liking everything and about how she used to smile to every men.
At the end the duke suggests his guest to rise before meeting the company.
The subject will be the Count's daughter whom the duke seems intent upon
marrying her, as he says for her personality.
