Mrs. Jones had a daughter; she was four years old.

She was trying to teach her to say “Please” when she asked for something and “Thank you” when someone gave her something.

One day, while they were having tea, the child asked for some bread and butter and her mother asked her what she had to add more. The daughter answered she wanted some jam more. Then Mrs. Jones asked her daughter if she wanted some tea; the child answered that she did not want any tea more and all this without any “Thanks” or “Please”.
