Exercises about "A knight's tale".

•1)      In the first still, you can see a man riding a horse in the wood and two men looking at him. The knight wears a suit of armour , while the other two people have a simple tunic on. These elements make you understand that the film deals with the Middle Ages. What's more, it seems as if the knight were training to fight, because he has got a sort of lance.

In the second still you can see a man kneeled to another one. The second man has got a sword and his clothes seem to be fine. Maybe he is going to kill the other man. This scene creates suspense, because you can note a lot of people in the background and they look worried.

In the third still, you can see a duel between two knights during a tournament.

•2)      William Thatcher is a squire but his dream is to become a knight. He is very good at riding and fighting but he is poor. One day he meets a noble that helps him, giving him a false, noble title. Thanks to this expedient the knight can take part to some tournaments and he also falls in love with a lady. He has to fight against another knight to get her heart but finally he kills his enemy and gets his lover.

•3)      My dearest Ulrich,

destiny broke us up,

but till my heart beats I will be with you.

I'll be your moon, I'll be your sun, I'll be your smile.

I'm with you and I'll wait for you, my only knight,

Yours,

Ulrich
