MR BOUNDERBY - ANALYSIS
Since the first sentence, it is extremely evident how Mr Bounerby's description is prevalently excluding, i.e. full of negations ("Not being Mrs Grundy", "never sufficiently vaunt...", "he had not much hair").
Dickens' choice of words is very effective: every aspect of Mr Bounderby's body seems to go together with his personality. ("metallic laugh", "coarse material"). The general atmosphere is characterized by a sense of richness and opulence.
