Chapter II

1.       The state of mind of the two girls is proud and also satisfied because Rebecca had had the courage to make such a gesture.

2.       Amelia is humble, gentle temper ,the best adjective that describes her personality is conformist.

Rebecca is instead is passionate, she thinks that revenge may be wicked, but it is natural and the best adjective that describes her personality is revengeful. “ the world is a looking-glass, and gives back to every man the reflection of his own face.”

3.       The narrator is outside the story .

The episode is about a remember of ill-treatment that dr. Raine did to a boy and also to the two girls. I thinks it is an unfavorable comment on it.

I think that the adjective is used ironically.

The reader isn’t free , he must share the narrator’s judgments.
