    Chapter II

Miss  Rebecca Sharp and miss Ameila Sedley are two students, they have just finished school so they are going to leave Cheswick. The extract from chapter II starts with an “heroical act”: Rebecca throws a dixionary out of the window. Miss Sedley was scared for this act of insubordination , but Rebecca is not so, she hates Miss Pinkerton because she uses her authority to scare students. Rebecca and Amelia have different characteristics and behaviours. Amelia is more humble and her vision of life sums up Victorian’s way of life.
