ADOLESCENCE PSYCHOLOGY

Teenage period” is the name of the adolescent period that goes from the age of thirteen to nineteen.

Adolescents start to develop in this period; the body both internally or externally is achanging. This changes are fast and complete at the end of this period.

An adolescent is usually nervous, unsteady or moody. Emotional development is at peak and it is the biggest problem because there is no emotional stability. Sometimes they burst in tears instantly if they miss what they aspire. But being and adolescent is not difficult: adolescence is a period of joy and happiness where adolescents start to understand the environment and make decisions.

In the group an adolescent aims to be at the centre and wants to shine and this ego centred behaviour in a character can be always seen. This bring us about a significant problem: the one of personal appearance. The adolescent is much worried about appearance at any cost and this makes him or her  emotionally bad.

Other things that you can see easily in an adolescent are the ambition for freedom and the individual hates parents' control. But they find them difficultly because they have to be independent even with money and this is not possible until they are sixteen years old, when they can find a job. They also can do housework for a small amount of money.

The most difficult problem for and adolescent is related to social adjustment outside the family and to peer group.
