As he drove at top speed across the city, Richard knew that it could have been his last chance to save himself and his friend, too. He was the last. He was the only one who could carry out that mission. He tried to drive faster and faster. He surpassed a car and dodged the other two. He had to be faster. Richard accelerated and looked at the timer. Two minutes left.

He quickly turned left and finally saw the big building. They had called it Las Noches. He braked and jumped off the car. He started running towards the entrance … he had to reach the top of the building. The elevator was broken. One minute left. He took the stairs. How much steps … He was exhausted … running running … 30 seconds left …

He reached the top of the building and saw the bomb. He had to disable it … 20 seconds left. He started working. He carefully opened the bomb timer and quickly analyzed its structure. Then he started working. Only 15 seconds left … 10 … 9 … 8 … He would do it … He HAD TO DO IT!

At last he managed! The timer stopped at 3 seconds. Richard sighed. He stood up. He turned back: he wanted to go and free his friend. He suddenly stopped. His friend was in front of him. He pulled out a gun shot him. Richard fell to the ground. He had been shot at the shoulder. He banged his head at the ground and saw black for some seconds. Then he opened his eyes.

Just in time to see 1 on the timer display and feel himself blowing up.
