The kiss

Braintain and Nathalie were sitting in a room, the first one in the shadow, the second one in the light of a dim fire.

They were talking about banal things. Nathalie knew he loved her but he hadn’t declared his love yet. Nathalie wasn’t attracted by him but if he had declared she would have accepted him, for he was very rich.

Suddenly, a man whom Braintain knew very well, entered the room; he didn’t see the man sitting in the shadow, so he approached Nathalie and before she could even realize what was happening, he kissed her.

Braintain shook, wished them goodbye and left the room.

Nathalie argued with Harvy, the boy who kissed her.  She told him he should have rung before entering the house. He said he had come (into) with her brother, and he asked her to forgive him.

When Nathalie met Braintain again, she asked him to let her explain the situation of the little ecounter of the other afteroon. She told him Harvy was an intimate friend of hers, and it was a kind of brother.

After they had talked, the situation improved lot and indeed they were going to marry soon.

Harvy was among the guests at the wedding and he sought her out in a rare moment she stood alone.

He told her Braintain had sent him to kiss Nathalie for he didn’t want to interrupt the intimancy there had existed beetween them. Nathalie was happy, she tought she could master the other as she wanted. So she approached Harvy to kiss him, but he suddenly (said) he said he had stopped kissing women.

So Nathalie had Braintain and his millions left.
