“At the grocer’s”
Mrs. Ford was at the grocer’s doing some shopping. She had also chosen something when the grocer asked if that was all. She looked at the shopping list, said no and told the man to add sugar, flour and tea and asked for a tomato soup. The grocer, after he had put all her shopping on the counter, told Mrs. Ford he had not got any tomato soup, but the woman asked if the tins on the shelf were of tomato soup. Mrs. Ford corrected her and said they were tins of tomatoes. At last she asked to have all her shopping carried home but a dozen eggs she would carry home herself.
The man there explained he could carry them to her house too when he herad that but Mrs. Ford said his delivery boy was careless and he surely would break the eggs on her house carpet.
“The amateur photographer”
One day a man went to a photo shop because he wanted to have his photos developed. Mr. Dog, the man at the photo shop, said he could come the Tuesday after if he wanted to have his photos printed back.
When the man went to the photo shop the week after, Mr. Dog said he had developed only 8 of the 36 photos because the camera was damaged and let in light and most photos were ruined.
Even the 8 photos were not good. So the man said sadly he would never be a good photographer.
