Appunti del 20.09.2010

We tried to make sense of what makes a literary language.

It's rather remote from everyday language.

A distinguishing features of literature is a special, or unusual, use of language.

It uses language in a different way, draws attention to it, and requires readers to pay a special kind of attention.

After selecting elements from it, aim to combine these elements into a new portion of reality which exists only within the text. The

reader is asked to recreate this reality in his mind.

The role of the reader is an active, dynamic one, in that he contributes to make the meaning of the text.

We made the sense of the text, while reading it.

There are many meanings as the number of readers, provided that the reader can support his interpretation on the text.

I expect the poem to be about literature, that is the poem is a metapoem.

Implicit meanings are to be inferred.
