AT THE GROCER'S

Mrs. Ford went to the grocer's. When she arrived, she looked at the shopping list and asked for some butter, some cheese and biscuits.

The grocer put the things on the counter and then asked if that was all. Mrs. Ford said that she wanted a pack of flour, sugar and tea; the grocer took them and put them on the counter.

After that Mrs. Ford asked for a tin of tomato soup but the grocer didn't have it. Then she noticed there were many tins on a shelf and she asked to know what tins they were. The grocer explained that there were only tomatoes.

Mrs Ford nodded wit and then asked the grocer to send everything to her house but she also added that she would like to have a pack of eggs, too.  She said she would carry the eggs home by herself.

The grocer told Mrs Ford that he could send the pack of eggsto her house too but Mrs Field said that she wouldn't let him do it, because his delivery boy was too careless and the week before he had let the eggs fall just in front of her house.

THE AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHER

Two weeks ago I went to a photography centre and I gave the men there a roll. I wanted to have the film developed and the photo printed. Then I told  Mr. Dud I would go back there the following Tuesday.

When I returned to the centre and Mr Dud gave me the envelope with the photo inside, I was very excited to open it.

When I opened it there were only 8 photos so I asked Mr. Dud where about the remaining 28 photos, because I was sure I had 36 photos in the roll.
Mr Dud was afraid and he said that most of the photos weren't good.

When I saw the photos, I said that they were awful: in one my sister didn't have legs, in another photo my brother seemed to grow out of a tree. The other photos were black or white and Mr. Dud said that my camera let in light.

That is why  I said I ought to give up with photography.
