For his 18^th birthday Roddie Lewis’s parents gave him a unusual birthday present: a course in First Aid.Roddie is interested in medicine and hopes to become a doctor.He has been studying science and mathematics at school for several years , but he hadn’t any practical medic subjects.Roddie is now the youngest person in our country to work with the medical volunteers who assist ambulance personnel.He  has been learned for 4 months.”While assisting the experts , I had tried  to observe and learn “,says Roddie.”Before I started this job , I hadn’t saw a heart attack or an injury except in films and books and I had never helped a sick person.Now I feel confident I can assist people in emergencies”.”We with Roddie for several months “,said Derek Gilliam , professional ambulance paramedic,”and although he had tried any experience  before he started ,he is very enthusiastic and quick,and he has been worked a lot.He has the qualities of an excellent doctor “.Roddie takes  his final exams later this year , and hopes to win a place at medical school.
