THE CONOTATION:

  •  Synecdoche  using elements of nature (meadow, grove, and stream) to refer to whole nature.

  • Alliteration: the repetition of "s" sounds, like "the soul that rises with us, our life's Star" and "h" sounds, like "but the beholds the lights, and whence it flows contribute to give an idea to something that is past and after sometime it is losing. In this case is the ability to perceive the relationship with God.

  • Syntax is more complicated, because the poet wants to bring the reader in his one man show vision of the nature.

  • Metaphorical view of Nature through the Catholic vision of the light as presence of god, like " star" and " celestial light".

  • The rhythm scheme is generally alternate, the musicality of the Ode influence the reader with sonorous rhythm .
