WOMAN WORK by Maya Angelou

In the title the topic of the poem is clear, it contains the theme of the steady work of women in the house. I think the situation in which women work is heavy.
The rhymes are couplets in the first stanza: AABBCCDDEEFFGG. The other six stanzas do not have rhymes. The first stanza treats about the innumerable duties of the simple housewife with a long list in a tone of great desperation.
The lines are short, the list of duties repeated in a monotonous way. The rhythm is harsh and dry. The lines consist mainly in an object and a verb; sometimes there is an adverb or a verb at the beginning. There is repetition of words, anaphora (The).
In the second part, four stanzas, the speaker changes the tone. She speaks to natural elements, sunshine, storm, snowflakes, rain, etc. to ask for some relief. It is her desire to escape, but not to another place, but hidden in nature. It is very sad that a woman who has children, and maybe a husband, says that the natural elements are the only things she can call her own.
The semantic field in the first stanza is that of the house: tend, clean, garden, chicken, hut, floor..... We see also alliteration and assonance.
In the other stanzas the semantic field is that of nature: rain, dewdrops, storm, wind, sky, mountain, ocean...... The sound of words here is sweeter, more poetic, more musical. There is also alliteration and assonance. There is the personification of nature.

BEING IN LOVE by Roger McGough
The title is about love, and I expect a happy love., the feelings of a person who is in love.
The poem is about a lover who admires the beauty of his girl. The description is not complete, he speaks only of her eyes and her lips. He is so full of love that he repeates his wish many times.
The poem contains a lot of sound aspects, especially alliteration, assonance, conconance and sibilance. There are three stresses iambic each line, in the first stanza, more irregular in the second.
In the second there are a lot of repetitions of words, as if the speakers could not find the words to express his passion. The poem is not metaphoric, but very concrete.
