FOR YOUR EYES ONLY
If you want totell people about your secret loves and hates, your feelings or what happened to you, you can use blogs.
Blogs are online diaries where the writer posts data about his thoughts and life, which can be read by anybody.
In the past, diaries were private. Sometimes writers published their diaries, but when the events had already happened. Blogs are different. You can share data and photos in the space of a few seconds. You can also get feedbacks from your readers.
A Blog has a lot of advantages over a diary. You can publish news as it happens, without being a journalist.
A blog writer posted news about daily life during the Iraq war of 2003.
A reader said that it was more realistic than any journal, and you felt what it was like when bombs fell around you. You can practice your writing skills. A blog writer, Tom, pointed out the freedom of writing his work and the chances of improving.
You can also share your feelings. Kelly said that, when her mother died, she created a blog to found support, help and people to talk to.
Finally you can express personal experiences. Emma and Sam, for instance, talk about everything in their blogs. Emma told us Sam had proposed to her online. And she added she would say yes on her blog.
ADRENALINE RUSH
- I started racing motorbikes at five. My parents hated it. So, at sixteen I did other sports like tennis and football. However, I still loved danger. I restarted racing at 20, but I had a lot of injuries and broken bones. Then, I learnt how to fall correctly and how to avoid damages. I love the adrenaline rush, because it's an unique feeling.
- First, my parents gave me a pair of roller skates. Then they bought me in-line skates. I started competing at 16. I love the sport, and I hated when guys said girls can't do these things. This pushed me to improve. I wanted to prove that girls can do anything they want. But I got a sprained knee and unfortunately this injury takes 6 weeks to get better.
- I started parachuting four years ago. It's really the sport for me. The adrenaline rush is exciting, and the feeling of danger stops the time. In the air you feel the life. Luckily I have never had any injures. My mum hates this sport. She always comes to my shows, but never watch my jump.
- I started surfing at 15, in Australia. My parents said that was dangerous. Since that moment, I have been riding waves every day after school at the beach near my house. My parents said that wasn't a sport for girls, but now they find it exciting too. If you do things you like, you'll become a happy person.
