  • Shakespeare does not present his woman like an angel, he changes the features and the description is more realistic

  • the rhyme scheme is ABAB, CDCD, EFEF, GG. It is not the same of the petrarchan sonnet.

  • The sonnet is arranged into three quatrains and a rhyming couplet

     

Interpretation

  • Shakespeare appeals to sight, smell and hearing.

  • Using sensory images the sonnet sounds more realistic

  • the meaning of the final couplet is to underline that he really loves his woman even if she is not perfect like an angel.
