Mr. Thompson learnt to drive a car at 30 years old. He hadn't got a driving licence sooner because he was a nervous person and had always had the convenience of someone else driving him everywhere, first his mother and then his wife. But at 30 he made up his mind and, after two attempts, he passed his driving exam. Although, he still wasn't very good at parking. One day, he drove into the city on his own and he had to park his car between two other cars. While he was going backwards, he damaged slightly one of the two other cars. So he wrote to his insurance company, which sent him a form to fill shortly afterwards. One of the questions of the form was how the driver of the damaged car could have prevented the accident. Mr. Thompson thought for a minute, then wrote he could have parked his car on another street.
