MY MUM

My mum’s name is Cristina and she is fifty-six years old. She is a woman of small build, and she is short and slim. She has got a brown straight hair and watchful brown eyes. She has got a small nose and small mouth, with thin lips, and wears glasses.

She is an excellent cook; she likes re-editing and inventing new recipes, but she can’t bear that somebody wanders about the kitchen while she is cooking or nibbles her dishes before being served. She loves coffee, and she wouldn’t be able to live without it. She likes taking walks in our garden or in the country to relax. She likes gardening; she cultivates plants and flowers, even rare, in our garden or in pots with loving care. Besides, she likes animals, and she takes care of our chickens and our stick insects. She is interested in psychology, philosophy, yoga, alternative medicine and nutrition. She studied pedagogy at the university, and she worked as a dietician for 20 years in Palmanova’s hospital. She isn’t able to use new technologies that much. For example, she can’t bear television, except for watching old films. She likes also knitting and reading books and magazines. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have much free time. She is a busy housewife, and she has always got something to do in our big house. She would like it to be perfectly tidy and clean.

She is very kind and sensitive, and she helps me whenever I need her. She always gives me and my sister good advice; she encourages me when I need support, and corrects me when I’m wrong. She is cheerful, talkative and proud too. She is also a very protective, careful and provident person. For this reason, she sometimes worries a bit much about us. She always tries to do her best as mother and is always ready for making a sacrifice for us. I’m very happy to have a mum like her.
