I'm going to analyse an extract taken from Ulysses, by James Joyce. The extract is Molly Blooms's final monologue. Molly Bloom (her real name is Marion Bloom) is the wife of Leopold Bloom, the main character of Ulysses.
Joyce uses the stream-of-consciousness: there is no punctuation and the flow of character's thoughts is chaotic.

Molly is in bed and thinks about a lot of things, while she is waiting for her husband.
She thinks:
about what people are doing in China;
about what are the nuns doing;
she would like to sleep;
about flowers;
about tomorrow and her husband:
about planning tomorrow (she would like to clean);
about nature (mountains, sea, country, lakes, ...);
about religion (God and atheists);
about the past, especially about a long kiss between her and Leopold and his nice words.
