Textuality » 3A Interacting
Obama’s acceptance speech is an argumentative text. It’s organized into an introduction, a body and a conclusion.
In the introduction he talked about his family, duties, his career and election campaigns. He also mentioned some points that he would discuss in the body.
In the body, Obama presented a thesis: he said that voting is important because people have to decide about the future. He made his case with different arguments: values and awareness of older generations, economy, renewable energy, education and work, foreign policy: wars and peace, taxes, voter’s responsibility, hope and faith.
In the conclusion, he picked up the introduction and thanked people.
