1. The word "England" derives from a people called Angles, who lived in the actually England.

2. They mostly caught fish.

3. Theyadmired loyalty and who was phisically courageous, as well as personal freedom. They also admired beauty.

4. A monk, called Augustine, was sent by Pope Gregory I to reconvert english people to Christianity.

5. Alfred the great was the first king of England. Alfred's aime was develope the state-building, local organization and the building of towns, not to mention the coniage. He also wanted to offer the opportunity for the people to study.

6. Athelstan succeded in completing his grandfather's dreams.
