Title: Barack Obama’s Acceptance Speech

Kind of text: The speech has the typical structure of an argumentative text: it consist of a body, where Obama thanks his family and people who voted him, a body where he tackles many USA’s problems like unemployment, dependence from oil exc., and a conclusion where thanks the audience and asks God to protect and to bless the United States.

Text’s objective: (thesis) Obama’s main thesis is people’s union and commitment to re-build a country which has been decreasing in the last decades.

Text’s purpose:  To convince people Obama’s path isn’t easier from Romney’s one, but that relying on everyone, mainly on young people, can make the difference.

Kind of reference: Obama uses an informal register to address to ordinary people, also to uneducated persons, because he wanted his message to reach everyone.
