The title of the text is “B. Obama’s Acceptance Speech”.
It was made by Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention, Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, on the 7th September, in 2012.
“B. Obama’s Acceptance Speech” is an argumentative text, because it presents the classical structure of an argumentative text: an introduction, where Mr.Obama said thanks to everyone who voted him and who gave him support; a body, where he tackled many USA’s problems: unemployement, economic crisis, etc…; a conclusion, where he said thank again to everyone.
B. Obama’s thesis is to re-build the American society, through hard work, union and hope.
This argumentative text has to convince people Obama’s path isn’t easier from his political rival’s one, but, relying on everyone, they can make the difference.
Obama uses an ordinary language, used by common people every day, because he wanted to deliver his message to everyone. He referred also to American history, old values and his family, during the World War II.
