Obama’s held an acceptance speech at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte on 6^th September 2012. It is an oral argumentative text: the main purpose of this text is to convince the interlocutor about an idea. President Obama presented a thesis in his speech: he told the audience that unity and a common effort can make a change. He supported his thesis with different argumentations and examples. He used both qualitative and quantitative facts (especially when he spoke about work, debt, taxes). He used a formal lexis. The message was addressed not only American people but also the other States of the world.
