TWO TRAMPS AND A DOG

Two tramps were walking along a quiet road and a sorry-looking dog was following them. A tramp said that they hadn’t any money. They saw a car in distance. They moved to one side because the car was arriveing, but the dog didn’t move. The car killed the dog, the driver got out of the car and gave to a tramp five pounds. When the driver was gone he said “Whose dog was it?”.

OUR NEW SECRETARY

The telephone rang and our new secretary, Miss Simpson answered it. She asked who was speaking, a voice answered  Mr Bright was on the phone  and he asked  if he could speak to Mr Calder.

Miss Simpson put her hand over the mouthpiece and spoke to Mr Calder. She told him that the person wanted to talk with him and added that he had rung up  five times the previuos week.

Mr Calder answered  saying that they didn’t need new typewriters and told  Miss Simpson to tell the man on the phone  that he wasn’t iin his office. Miss Simpson spoke into the receiver and said “Mr Calder says that he’s not in his office”.
