OUR NEW SECRETARY

The new secretary, Miss Simpson, answered the phone. It was Mr. Bright: he wanted to sell some new typewriters to Mr. Calder. Mr. Bright phoned five time last week but Mr. Calder didn't need a new typewriter and so he said to Miss Simpson to tell to Mr. Bright that he said that he wasn't in his office.

TWO TRAMPS AND A DOG

Two tramps were walking along a quiet street, they hadn't goy any money, and a dog was following them. Suddenly a car was coming towards them very quickly and hit and killed the dog. The driver was afraid, and so he gave five pounds to the tramp, and when he drove away the second tramp said "Whose dog was it?".

THE HORSE COULDN'T SING

Last night Fred went to the opera. I asked him if he had enjoyed, he answered me "yes", but he only saw half of the performance, because one of the two live horses in the stage jumped off it and ran round the theatre, and so everybody have had to leave the opera. Fred suggested me "Perhaps the horse couldn't sing!".
