Two films about Beowulf summary

The textbook offers two different films about the epic poem Beowulf. The first film is called "Beowulf and Grendel"; it was produced in America in 2005 by Sturla Gunnarsson. In this film are told the various battles that the warrior hero Beowulf had to endure in order to defeat Grendel, presented here as a man belonging to an ethnic group discriminated who kills for revenge against the king Hrotgar which in turn had killed his father. This film is not very accurate because it fits into the history new characters not present in the poem (for instance, the father and the son of Grendel).

The second film is titled simply "Beowulf", it was produced in America in 2007 by Robert Zemeckis. in this film are told the various battles that the warrior hero Beowulf had to endure since his departure to save the near Hrotgar by Grendel and the mother of the monster, to his death after defeating the dragon. This film is not very accurate because it changes the features of the characters (for example, Beowulf has flaws, Hrotgar is an alcoholic, Grendel and the dragon are the children the near of the hero and of Beowulf himself).
