Comprehension
1. When I finished to read the text I felt confuse; indeed information are not given by Virginia Woolf according to logical criteria but according to associations which come across her mind.
2. The story is about a heron flying in the sky, shaking space from his wings and all the ideas which come on surface during the reading seem to be described by the heron’s perspective.
3. Within the text there is no dialogues, characterizations, plot and so on; indeed Virginia Woolf wants to focus the attention of the reader on main character’s most inner thoughts, therefore she uses the technique of the stream of consciousness.
4. She probably adopted this way of writing because she wanted to put character’s consciousness at the centre of investigation according to modernist novels; indeed during Modernism lots of theories about the importance of unconscious were elaborated.
